The course takes you from your first commit to confident teamwork in 24 short lessons and a final challenge. Every lesson follows the same path:
- Understand — a short narrated explanation with animated figures of the history.
- Watch — a demo in real Git plays step by step. You predict the outcome before the key commands.
- Your turn — the sandbox is reset, and you reach the same goals yourself. Git checks the result, not the wording.
- Transfer and check — a new variant without a demo, questions that make you recall it, and “Read more” for depth.
Git and Bash run in their own Linux environment in your browser through WebAssembly. The first start downloads about 20 MB. There is no connection to GitHub or other servers, and no account is needed. Progress is stored only in this browser.
The narrator voice is generated with artificial intelligence from the same text shown on screen. The text is the authoritative version. You can mute the voice, change the speed or read at your own pace.
The course works with a keyboard. Space plays or pauses, the arrow keys move one step, M mutes and P opens presenter mode for teaching with a projector. Animations follow the reduced-motion setting, and every figure has a text version.
This is a self-paced workshop without credits, formal exam or deadlines. The content builds on the Git documentation and Pro Git.
